title report and final settlement statement (HUD1), only thing left was
seller's SSN. With hard copy printout of applcation form, copy of final
settlement statement and a cover letter written by myself, I went to the
escrow company. They pulled out the seller's ssn from record, filled it in
the applcation, then faxed the whole application package, finally gave me
the confirmation of fax transmission. They kept the page 1 o

I guess the cover letter is an option, rather than something you must
provide.

发帖数: 243 | 5 just called state tax franchise tax board at 916.845.4900 (not toll-free)
and spoke with a guy named Ken.
He told me i can leave the cell blank and they'll still process it. :)
We talked to escrow co. first and the agent told us their legal dept. asked
them not to get involved in it as it clearly stated on the website that it's
the buyer's responsibility to fill out the forms and submit them. they
dont want to get into any trouble in case there's any mistake on the forms.

still approve the application form?
If it is true, it is a very good news. It is better to be verified by
difference people a few times to make sure everybody there thinks in the
same way.

he was willing to give me his name and ID# over phone.
I think they must have got a lot calls about this and this is a standard
solution.
Also, I confirmed with him, no coverletter from us is required.

Applications: We will accept applications by fax only beginning May 1, 2010.
Do not use the 2009 application. Applications received before May 1, 2010,
or before escrow closes will be denied.
Within two weeks (14 calendar days) after the close of escrow:
The seller must complete Parts II, III, and also Part IV (if the home has
never been occupied) of Form 3549-A, Application for New Home / First-Time
Buyer Credit, and provide a copy to the buyer or escrow person. |

the reply.

Thank you for visiting the FTB website
We recommend that escrow fax the application for this reason. We
understand that sellers do not want to provide their SSN to the buyer,
however in some cases they will provide it to escrow. Escrow can simply
fax the application and obtain the confirmation then black out the
sellers SSN on the buyers copy |
