accepting international students?
I have a friend in China whose child would like to come here for
private high school. Tuition is not a problem for them. But would like
to know which private high school is good and have sizable Asian
student population? Of course, the high school needs to be able to
issue I-20.

发帖数: 3876 | 3 Does your friend's child speak English well and have solid GRE score? If so,
there are many options including some excellent schools, however the Asian
population in those schools is usually relatively smaller; If not, there are
also plenty of private / for profit schools that require no GRE score and
can issue I-20, but the quality of education usually isn't that great. The
majority of students in those schools are from Asian countries. |

of the schools provide room and board for additional money. I have helped
friend's kid in similar situation before here in WA and our feeling is that
having a good American host family is a lot better than living in the dorm
with a bunch of other kids who don't speak English well.

我们的
一所合作学校2010年秋季的数据是300多中国人申请3个名额。
2. TOEFL一般都是要的，但我们的合作学校里有不需要TOEFL的。
3. SSAT一般不需要，即便是非常好的学校也有很多不需要。
4. 高中申请过程里面trick非常多，绝不像申请大学或graduate school那样
straightforward。很多学校网上的资料不全，不up-to-date。而且高中申请绝不仅仅
是成绩
好，有社会活动经验，有社团经验就是好的candidate了。尤其是私立高中，每个学校
选人的侧重点
都不同，有些学校选人非常偏。还有很多信息是每年更新的，比如我们就碰到过某年某
学校就是不想
招中国某个城市的申请人的案例。而且这些东西都不是网上能查出来的。
