"CUPERTINO, CA — A 50-year-old Cupertino man whose body was found with
his wife inside their ranch-style home on Saturday died from `an
apparent gunshot wound` to the head, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's
Office said today.
"The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the
identities of the couple as Susan and Gary Longdon. The sheriff's office
has not offered a final ruling on the couple's deaths, but did say it
would be classified as either a murder/suicide or joint suicide.
"Although the medical examiner's office determined that 51-year-old
Susan Longdon suffered blunt force trauma to her head, further testing
must be done before a cause of death can be determined, said Sgt. Jose
Cardoza of the sheriff's office.
"Court documents show that Susan Longdon had filed for divorce from her
husband three months ago. The couple was married on Dec. 31, 1981 and
had been separated since September, according to court documents.
"On Saturday at about 2:30 p.m., sheriff's deputies discovered the
bodies after responding to a report of a `suspicious circumstance` at a
home on 10398 Westacres Drive." |
