(02-09) 22:57 PST HAYWARD -- A man suspected of taking part in a home-
invasion robbery was shot and killed Sunday by the victim, who also wounded
a female suspect, police said.
The incident happened at a single-family, two-bedroom home on the 21000
block of Western Boulevard shortly before 5:30 p.m., said Hayward police Sgt
. Eric Melendez.
When officers arrived, they were met by a resident of the home, who said he
had used a handgun to shoot at least two intruders, one male and one female,
at his home, Melendez said.
The man was found dead inside, Melendez said. His name was not immediately
released.
The victim said the other intruders fled, police said.
About 5:45 p.m., police were contacted by officials at Eden Medical Center
in Castro Valley informing them that a car had dropped off a woman suffering
from numerous gunshot wounds, police said. Officers believe she had taken
part in the robbery, police said. | b********t
