We, Yahoo Advertising and Data team, are hiring
* data mining/machine learning research engineers/scientists
* experienced front-end engineers (any MVC framework)
* experienced C++/Java back-end engineers

Thanks for the interest. We have forwarded more than 30 candidates to phone
interview session and a few of them went to on-site interview. Here are some
feedbacks from Yahoo interviewers and hiring managers.
(1) For technical knowledge, coding, CS knowledge in algorithm and data
structure, and general problem solving skills are all important.
(2) Your behavior and attitude will be observed during all sessions. That
part is also important.
(3) Once the candidate passes on-site interview, the candidate will be
informed with 48 hours.

Q: 请问一下贵公司的hiring process?从最开始面试到最后大概有多久?
This is a special hiring project. Everything works in the fastest path. The
following does not apply for the whole company.
1) After receiving resume, if fit, phone interview invite will send out
within 48 hours (business hours, Monday to Friday).
2) 2nd phone interview might need in certain cases (e.g., the candidate and
the position are not in the same geographic area)
3) Assuming the result from phone interview is good, an onsite invite will
send asap after we form the interview panel. The process probably spends 2-3
days, at most.
4) Assuming the result from onsite interview is also good, HR will start the
formal process, including material preparation for Marrisa Mayer. If
approved, offer letter will send out.
Yes, for now, Marrisa Mayer still reviewed packages and made the final call,
by my knowledge.

he or she is not in US right now.

No. Precisely, "1 year or more" industry experiences means regular, full-
time employment in industry at least one year or more.
