right to breathe clean and odorless air. Basic right to have a safe future
for our family and generations to come. Basic right to walk in our
neighborhoods and streets and not be enclosed in our home due to smell.
Basic right for our children to play in parks.
Keep in mind the ground water contamination litigation against Pacific Gas
and Electric Company. The contamination started in 1952. At that time people
wondered how water used in cooling towers would be any problem. Years later
, it turns out that the company used to add a carcinogen in water to prevent
rusting. The case was settled quite late in 1996.

Do we know what lies ahead of us in future? Would we find out something as
devastating in future? Do we know what chemicals, compounds are used in
landfill? Does any agency or government official give us written guarantee
that it is all safe?
Because the agencies in 1952, same as today, cleared PG&E and all the
chemicals they were using. Years later, when the damage was already done,
they found PG&E using carcinogen.
This isn’t a fight for just Milpitas-North San Jose-West Fremont, it’s a
fight for almost entire bay area. If we all don’t get involved today, it’s
a fight which will be impossible to win in future.
Everyone is busy. But just carve some time out of your busy schedule for
yourselves and your family. If we don’t fight right now, we can only blame
ourselves for what happens in future. We have the platform, this is the
right time, every email counts, every phone call counts, every complain
counts. Please do your part. We all have large networks in the Bay Area.
Talk to friends, family, colleagues, employers in 237-880 corridor, school
principals and teachers. Spread the word.

| u*****a 发帖数: 6276 | 3 Then who has the GOOD luck or job of breathing the same filthy air? Monkeys?
I am sure most of you have driven through part of I5 called: Cow Country.
Did anyone try to remove those cattle from the side of the highway, thereby
preventing their HUGE amount of filthy body gas polluting our clean,
odorless air? |
