Let me give you an example might be enlighting.
dF1/dt=g(F1,F2,F3);
dF2/dt=h(F1,F2,F3)
dF3/dx=f(F1,F2);
in each time step k, the converged solution is a solution
that fufill the
initial condition of step k-1, and the above three
equations.
suppose you algorithm is like:
guess F3 from pervious (1)
marching in time for F1 and F2 (2)
