Ever wanted to learn more about Microfinance or China? Interested in
Good Drinks and Great Company? Come join Wokai's Seattle Chapter on
Thursday, November 18th, 2010 at 6pm at O'Asian for happy hour to learn
more about Wokai's upcoming events (lectures, Drinks for a Better World,
and dim sum) and microfinance in China. Please join us and meet the
volunteers that organize and lead the Seattle Chapter of Wokai.
Parking is free with validation. Garage entrance is on Columbia St
between 5th & 6th Ave.
Wokai is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping China's
poor and encouraging entrepreneurship through an online person-to-person
micro-lending platform.
About Wokai
Wokai is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to alleviating poverty in
China through microfinance. Wokai’s approach uses the internet to allow
contributors around the world to provide loan capital to borrowers in
rural China, empowering them to lift themselves from poverty. Through
www.wokai.org, contributors loan as little as $10 to a borrower, collect
repayments each month, and allocate capital to a new borrower at the end
of the loan cycle. Since the website launch in November 2008, Wokai has
raised over US$250,000 in loan capital, attracted 5,600 users, and
