第一是兼容性问题。 Do most software designed for XP/vista/win 7 can run
on Windows Server 2k8 without any modification? Supposed the software is
not designed to run on any server OS.
第二是安全问题。假如用Windows 2k8 RemoteApp 运行server 上的 Application
program, 那么这个 application program 的security/spy feature, 能否发现这个
application program 是 通过 Remote Destop 来运行的呢。 Say if I install
Skype on a Windows 2k2 Server and run Skype through Remote Desktop on
client destop/laptop, can the skype software tell skype company that the
application is run remotely other than run by a local desktop? 如果能的花，
有什么办法防止他发现呢？ Also, can the application program figure out
the IP address of remote desktop client? Anyway to prevent it if so?
第三是performance问题. Windows server 2k8 r2 对硬件要求很高吗？ 如需要同
时运行3-4个windows application on Server side, 但没有什么大任务， Pentium 4
2.4 Ghz 2 GB 2 X 160 GB SATA 够用了吗？

发帖数: 2005 | 3 XP不好说，多数应该行。能在vista/Win7上运行的，理论上都可以在W2K8上运行，因为
kernel的major version 都没有变。
在P4上跑W2K8估计很吃力。

2.可以通过 %sessionname% 获得是remote的还是local的。
%sessionname% will return Console if its local or RDP* if its remote.
System.Environment.ExpandEnvironmentVariables("sessionname")
3. Server 2008的performance要看你怎么说，针对特定的他可以做的很好。
因为server 2008上面有很多很多的功能。性能与你的配置有很大关系。
对硬件的要求只能说不低。

1个程序消耗的资源可能比100的其他程序消耗的资源多得多。
如果你要估算。就要知道你的程序的，memory, CPU, Network, disk IO 等等的资源消
耗情况。
以及你对程序期望的响应指标。
总不希望按一下，半天出来吧。

如果我是server的admin, “sessionname ” 可以被disable 或block吗？So
client program installed on Server can not access it.
另外，安装在Server上的程序， 能否发现 Remote Desktop client 的 IP
address. ? 有什么办法隐藏 Remote desktop的IP Address 吗？
另外 windows Server 2k8 的安全性能是不是比 Winders Server 2k3 好很多？
Also, for hardware, the program that I will install does not require a
lot of hardware recource, but I do need good performance and fast response
time. Can Dual Core Xeon 2.33 Ghz 2G have decent performance? I can
upgrade to Quad Core Xeon 2.83 Ghz+2G(or 4G) if I pay 70-100$ more monthly
, not sure if it is necessary.
