The success or failure of most start-ups can be determined simply by looking
at their team. So how do you create a team that is likely to be successful
? Spare your Sunday afternoon and listen to our startup session 揃uilding a
successful startup team�, we invited our guest speakers Chee Chew, the
Director of Google, and Justin Tomboulian, the Senior VP of Annik Technology
Services, to deliver their stories and best practices on how to build a
wonder team � one from the engineering aspect, another from the business
aspect. Chee and Justin were both Microsoft executives before their current
companies, it would also be interesting to listen to their opinions on how
culture is different in different organizations and how your startup should
get prepared: build a successful team from the ground up and scale it to the
level your vision wants it to be.

Lightening talks:
We reserved lightening talks slots for startups to pitch
their ideas or demo a product/service to the audience along with our guest
speakers. A live demo is highly recommended. Each speaker will be given 5
minutes. Anyone in the club who want to have this opportunity, we will have
maximum 5 slots available, we will also publish your name, startup,
websites on our event directory and recommend to our guest speakers for a
further feedback.

Speakers Bio:
☆ Chee Chew is Engineering Director for Google, overseeing
applications and client efforts at the company抯 Seattle and Kirkland
offices. The Seattle area teams contribute to Chrome, Chrome OS, Gmail,
Google Talk, Google Pack and internal tools. Prior to Google, Chee spent 14
years at Microsoft Corporation where he started as a code-crazy engineer on
Windows 95, Internet Explorer 3, 4 and 5. He then transitioned to
engineering leadership, then took over General Manager responsibilities for
Windows Mobile. Chee had the privilege of leading engineering teams from the
first Pocket PC release through Windows Mobile 6. In his last project at
Microsoft, Chee was General Manager of Games for Windows LIVE within the
Xbox organization. Before Microsoft, Chee earned his B.S. degree and Master
of Science in computer science from MIT in cooperation with Hewlett-Packard
Labs in Palo Alto. Chee was born in Malaysia, but grew up in South Carolina,
then Kentucky. He is married with two children aged 12 and six. He enjoys
karate, soccer, photography and traveling to new places. He has lived in
the Seattle area since 1993
☆ Justin Tomboulian is Senior Vice President for Annik Technology
Services, developing and growing the Annik market research, data analytics,
and data management solution and service delivery success story across the
Asia Pacific region. Prior to Annik, Justin spent over 10 years at Microsoft
Corporation in different countries: Japan, Singapore, United States. He
developed and planned IT solution strategy and portfolio, as well as led the
interface role with senior-level stakeholders in order to fulfill Microsoft
Japan business solution needs. Highly successful implementing global
enterprise LOB applications while satisfying the local demands of the
