June 24th, NEW YORK(Reuters) MitBBS( Ticker MB QUOTE: 38.438↓) Tumbled as
much as 85% from 250 W$ to 38.428 W$ in the early trading Friday.
Last night, Steven Keng, a highly controversial and widely followed
columnist of MitBBS, announced resignation from his post as Chief Digging
Officer of MitBBS. In his brief letter to the public, Mr. Keng said he is
rebalancing between family responsibility and his obligation to entertaining
, or say disgusting, audience of MitBBS.
Person close to Keng told Reuters that Mr. Keng married recently. Even since
, his wife gave him increasing pressure both physically and psychologically.
Various MitBBS observers already pointed out that Mr. Keng has shifted his
cynical style drastically to family friendly. “However, wife still said no.
What can you do?” Due to the sensitivity of the information, this person
would not release his own identity.
In recent years, MitBBS has long claimed itself as No.1 web portal for
oversea Chinese. It regularly has more than 10000 online visitors. The main
audience of MitBBS is so called WSN, or Weird Stupid Nuts. They are mainly
highly-educated-low-income male Chinese at their 20s and 30s living in North
America. Due to their limited finance freedom, WSN mainly focus on topics
highly controversial and less financially involved. Most read posts on the
site covers topics from immigration, job hunting, celebrity gossips,
marriage between Chinese ladies and Americans etc. “Dig-in and pump-up is
my major source of entertainment.”, one WSN told our correspondent. Main
income source of MitBBS is advertisement. Top clients are various
immigration lawyers.
MitBBS is facing mounting competition from various other websites. Huaren.us
. Huaren targets the market of female Chinese in North America. The audience
spend more time discuss topics like shopping, traveling, kids education,
etc. Due to the tradition of man-earning-women-spending of Chinese, audience
of huaren tend to have more financial leeway than WSN. Consequently, huaren
.us attracted more diversified advertisement clients. The BSO, Bloody
Showoff, culture of huaren.us has been successfully driving its audience
spend more on discretionary spending like affordable luxury goods. That is
what WSN can only dreamed of.
Mr. Keng’s resignation is the lastest episode of long string of events,
which has invoked widely spread fear in the market that WSN may gradually
forced by their wives to leave MitBBS to earn more money. So their wives can
purchase more to BSO. Our correspondent interviewed several WSN on MitBBS.
They all showed their deep sorrow for Mr. Keng’s resignation. One said, “
He is our king. We wish king will return.” Another said, “If the die-hard
king of WSN has quit, where the career future for those entry level WSN is?
It is all about experience. It takes normally 2~3 years to grow from a
Junior WSN to a Senior. Another 5~8 years to become a Principal. An
architect level WSN like Mr. Keng is very difficult to find. MitBBS pay Mr.
Keng at least 6 figure Wei Bi(TOCKER W$ EXCHANGE RATE: 0.0000005) a year.
That is our dream job. Now, he quit. What the f**k. It is not fun. It is sad

According to unidentified source of information, Mr. SaoB, another architect
level WSN will take the position left by Mr Keng. He is the MVW, Most
Valuable WSN, of the year 2010.
Lao Xing, Chairman and CEO of MitBBS didn’t response our request of
interview. Mr. Keng turned off his cell phone. Voice mail said, ‘Looking
