The first Seattle Entrepreneurship Club event in Aug is coming up this Sat!
Co-hosted with the Northwest Chinese Professionals Association (NWCHP), we
will have a summer luncheon and networking event on Aug 6th, with two
amazing guest speakers: Omar Lee (CEO of Great Wall Development Inc) and
Conrad Lee (Deputy Mayor, City of Bellevue).
If you have attended the NWCHP Road to Success event last month, you should
remember the interesting and inspiring talk given by Mr. Omar Lee who is a
very successful entrepreneur. Omar would like to continue this conversation
and have more in depth discussion with SEC and NWCHP members. He invited us
to have a Buffet-style luncheon at the Imperial Garden Restaurant on Aug 6th
and will give us a tour of the Great Wall Mall after lunch.
We are also very excited to have Bellevue Deputy Mayor Conrad Lee be our
guest speaker and give us a speech on “Leadership and Success”.
This is a great opportunity to learn more about leadership and success, as
well as networking with business and political leaders!

Speakers’ Bios:
Omar Lee (CEO of Great Wall Development Inc).
Omar Lee first got his BA in Computer Science at UC Berkeley. He then
received his MBA in Finance & Marketing at UCLA. He took additional real
estate and construction courses through University Extensions and
professional associations. Mr. Lee has worked as manager for Hewlett Packard
Company and Data General Company. He went on into real estate development
and management and also worked as a real estate broker and general building
contractor as well as real estate investment and construction consultant.
Some of his projects include building and designing many apartment complexes
, estate homes and custom homes along the West Coast states. Mr. Lee is one
of the founders of Pacifica Bank/United Commercial Bank, Pacific
International Bank, and Regal Financial Bank. He is also experienced as an
entrepreneur in restaurants and entertainments.
Mr. Lee serves as a member on the board of directors for Regal Financial
Bank, Waterfront Construction Co., and Scout Reach - Boyscout of America.
Through his work experiences, he has become affliates with companies such as
Great Wall Deleopment, Inc., Shamu Property Management Co., Commonwealth
Investment Co., and Techcraft Construction Co.
Conrad Lee (Deputy Mayor, City of Bellevue)
Conrad Lee, a Chinese-American businessman, engineer and community leader,
was appointed Regional Administrator in Region X on January 7, 2002. Mr. Lee
oversees the U.S. Small Business Administration's programs and services in
Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Alaska from Regional Offices located in
Seattle, Washington
Born in China, Mr. Lee came to the United States to earn an engineering
degree from the University of Michigan in 1962. From 1962-78, except for two
years as a stockbroker, Mr. Lee worked for Boeing Co. in various capacities
, including engineer, marketing sales manager and energy analyst. He
received an MBA in finance and international business from the University of
Washington in 1980.
From 1979-96 Mr. Lee was project manager for the City of Seattle Solid Waste
Utility. He helped develop a solid-waste plan that is a model for other U.S
. cities. His experience working with local government prompted him to run
for the Bellevue (Wash.) City Council, where he is beginning a third four-
year term.
Since 1979 Mr. Lee has been the owner and managing partner of a property-
management business. During the 1980s he helped small businesses with
international trade.
A resident of Bellevue, Washington, Mr. Lee is also a leader in numerous
community service organizations and activities and has received national
appointments and elections to the Board of the National League of Cities and
President of Asian Pacific-American Municipal Officials.
Mr. Lee has been married for 36 years to Winnie. They have two children, son
Chris, working in California, and daughter Jennifer, working toward a Ph.D.
degree in Sociology at the University of Washington. His immediate family
includes 88-year-old Mother, who single-handedly raised him and his sister
after being widowed when Mr. Lee was eight years old.
From the SBA's regional headquarters in Seattle, Mr. Lee oversees district
offices in Seattle and Spokane, Wash.; Boise, Idaho; Portland, Ore.; and
Anchorage, Alaska. During fiscal year 2001, Region X helped 2,014 small
businesses obtain $556.2 million in loan guarantees.
