Duration – 6+ months
Location – Bothell, WA
Job Description:
Develops test cases, executes test plans, reports/triages/tracks defects for
internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces,
databases, reporting, or business intelligence systems, as required to
deliver new systems functionality supporting corporate business objectives.
This position is part of the corporate user interface team whose function
is to design and develop simple, cutting edge front end systems for the Care
, Retail and Billing organizations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Support ongoing development for front end systems used by Care,
Retail and Billing organizations.
· Participate in walk-throughs of technical specifications and
requirements with System Analysts, Architects, User Experience leads and
other project stakeholders. Provide feedback and guidance to influence
testability of proposed designs.
· Translate client requirements (user stories, wireframes, design
documents, etc) into workable test plans.
· Develop and maintain test cases for all functional areas of the
team’s work. Develop documentation for test setup, data and other
dependencies.
· Perform manual testing at the user interface and API levels.on CI
build deployment packages, in development and QA environments, and
occasionally in Production.
· Develop and maintain automated tests, including unit, integration
, and functional tests.
· Lead or participate in collaborative efforts to analyze, identify
, resolve and verify
· Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and
project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
· Learn the science necessary to understand client data, methods,
and work flows.
· Research and provide level-of-effort estimates for coming
projects.
· Utilize departmental Systems Development Lifecycle Methodology as
a guide for activities.
· Provide on call and after hours support as required for
production releases and to respond and provide Tier 1 support on production
outages.
· Contribute to and work to meet project schedules by providing
accurate estimates of effort required for development deliverables, by
providing updates on project progress to development and project management,
and by escalating issues that might affect project success to management.
· Maintain technical skills and expertise through continuing
education and training.
· Collaborate/Partner with other teams, both internal and external,
including 3rd party vendors, Enterprise Testing, Release Planning and
Management, Business Systems Analysis, Project Management, and Application
Support on successful delivery of systems enhancements.
Functional/Technical Skills:
· Experience testing applications on various platforms: desktop,
web, tablet, mobile at the UI, internal API and client API levels
Experience in the following technologies
· Adobe: Flex, Flash, LiveCycle
· Microsoft: ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, IIS
· Oracle: Web logic, java, oracle db
Database and SQL query skills
· Test automation frameworks and tools (Flex Monkey, Selenium, etc
…)
· Understanding / experience in various test methods
· Understanding / experience in various testing levels (unit
testing, integration testing, etc…)
· Understanding / experience developing test strategies
Experience Requirements:
· Minimum of seven years work experience as a tester or QA engineer
is desirable, preferably in the wireless industry.
· Experience with Waterfall and with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP
, Kanban, etc)
· C# coding abilities
· Has experience mentoring other members of technical staff.
· Ability to work in dynamic environments with multiple
organizations/teams constantly evolving requirements.
· Critical thinker, Effective decision maker.
· Self starter.
· Ability to quickly learn new areas and unlearn others.
· Strong ability to drive resolution to issues including
facilitating triage conference calls with developers, testers, system
analysts, etc…
· Has had experience on projects with multiple teams contributing
to a coordinated effort, each team greater than five members.
Education/Vocational Training:
· B.S. Computer Science or equivalent experience.
