Subject: Jimmy Kimmel's "Kill all Chinese" is not funny and he must be fired
To whom it may concern:
Good afternoon. This is W Z and I am a faculty member of MMM University. I
am a Chinese. I am a father of two girls. They love Disney, everything about
Disney! They love to watch Disney TV Channels, movies. As parents, we like
them too. We have also planned a trip to your Orlando Disney World next
summer.
But a recent event is really bothering me. Jimmy Kimmel has a kid show with
a statement: "Kill all Chinese". I not only think it is not funny at all,
but also think it is dangerous for us. It puts me, my family, my kids, and
my fellow Asian people in US in danger. Think about this situation. An
inspired (by Jimmy Kimmel) kid/adult can't travel to China, but find a
Chinese neighbor, or a neighbor looks like Chinese.
I was little surprised to find out that Disney owns ABC and of course Jimmy
Kimmel's show. Jimmy Kimmel must be fired, period.
I am just a little college professor and there is not much I can do to make
you to do this. But I can do the following:
1. Cancel trips to Disney world. There are plenty of other alternatives.
2. Cancel TV subscription to all your TV channels that include Disney
channels and ESPN channels. This will be hard not only for my kids, but also
for me because many of my favorite sports games are broadcasted on ESPN.
But it is not that ESPN is the only medium coverage. I can find other ways
to watch games. My kids will also watch other kid’s channels. I think there
are other choices for them.
3. Stop my kids from watching any movies produced by you.
4. Stop them from buying clothes, toys and anything related to your company.
I know there will be a lot of resistance. But I can always show them Jimmy
Kimmel's show and tell them that Disney is the company owns this show and
they refused to fire this guy.
5. Spread around Asian community, as they will all affected.
6. Tell the story in my classroom whenever I got a chance.
Sincerely,
WZ

In this show, "Kids Table", one of the children suggested "killing everyone
in China" as a solution for current political issues. I'm very uncomfortable
with Jimmy Kimmel's response immediately afterwards.
Mr. Kimmel's first reaction was "That's an interesting idea", then followed
by "Shoudn't we let them to live?" Such are very unprofessional comments.
Suggesting elimination of an entire country/race, aka genocide, is a modern
taboo, and extremely politically-incorrect. By not immediatly correcting the
child, and on the contrary continue discussing such "possibility" in a
casual manner, Mr. Kimmel and ABC send a clear message that they lack basic
respect to their Chinese audience in the US and worldwide. They should have
understood that it's highly unsavory to employ such speech even in a satire
show. If it was intended to be a joke, it stopped being a joke by the end of
the very same sentence.
Therefore, I demand an apology to the audience, from Jimmy Kimmel and the
producer.
