Senior Software Design Engineer in Test (Downtown)
Position Title: Senior Software Design Engineer in Test
Department: Technology
Reports To: QA Manager
Exempt / Non-Exempt: Exempt

Position Summary:
• Ownership of the test automation
• Write test automation for against web application code( Unit,
Performance, Load and Web UI Automation tests )
• Champions and ensures quality software, systems, and processes by
authoring and executing detailed test plans and test cases
• Works effectively with all levels of the technical team with
uncompromising standards that are effective but not cumbersome
• Must be able to work on location (not remote)
Essential Functions:
• Build test plans, develop test cases and execute test automation for
assigned projects
• Engages in writing test automation
• Must have high attention to detail and be motivated to find as many
defects as possible
• Individual is a good learner and willing to acquire new skills
• Execute tests and analysis test results
• Identify, analyze, and document defects
• Coordinate, execute, and communicate test activities with program
managers and development teams to ensure implementations support business
priorities and needs
• Maintain ownership of test activities which may include data
verification, reporting, user interface verification, application behavioral
verification, and other test verifications as needed
• Proactively communicate to program management any variances to
project tasks well in advance
• Follow defined software development lifecycle best practices
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required
• 7+ years of experience in software testing
• 5+ years of SDE/T experience
• 5+ years of developing test automation experience
• 5+ years of white-box testing experience with object oriented
programming – Java, C#, C++
• 3+ years of C# development experience
• 3+ years of SQL language and data verification experience
• 3+ years testing web-based systems required
• 2+ years JavaScript test experience
• 1+ year HTTP troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with Agile Development focused mainly as an individual
contributor is required
• Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills
required
• Able to translate functional and technical requirements into working
test plans and test cases as required
• Experience working in small teams with a good mix of autonomy and
accountability is highly desired
Bonus Qualifications:
• Microsoft Test Manager experience
• Performance/Load testing experience
• ASP.NET, MVC experience
• Strong Debugging experience
