with tables for various Asian student groups. One of them is the Chinese
Students and Scholars Association, where senior Haoyu Wang is a member. He'
s
majoring in political science and plans to attend law school in the U.S. as
well.
Wang feels some of that glee at the prospect of a Trump presidency. “We
don
’t like Trump as a person but we like him as a tool to kind of bring
American down," Wang said.
He said his views aren’t necessarily typical of his peers at UW. Many
students he knows, both Asian and non-Asian, are supporting Clinton, who
Wang sees as tough and experienced. But Wang wants to make his career in
China, and he thinks a Trump victory would be good for his home country,
which is already on the rise. “We turned the tables," he said. "So more
and
more of us, international Chinese students, would like to obtain certain
knowledge in the United States and try to go back and serve our country.” | c**********2 发帖数: 119 | 4 刚给KUOW发了邮件,要求澄清错误取消新闻。华人不发声就被这样欺负。
I came up with the news on KUOW of "A Trump win could help China. That's why
this banner flew over Seatle", and realized that KUOW is delivering totally
wrong information. The banner, as it said, stand for "Chinese Americans",
who are a group of Americans that permanently live in the United States and
participate in the vote coming next week. The interviewee in the program,
Haoyu Wang, is an international student from China, who is visiting US on a
student visa. The interviewee's opinion represents only himself. I strongly
urge KUOW to clarify this and withdraw the news from your website.

supporters are for American, and for American interest. His racist comment

Hello Ms. Radil,
I find the your report today entitled "A Trump win could help China. That's
why this banner flow over Seattle" seriously flawed and deeply disturbing,
because it violates the most fundamental principle of journalism. I don't
understand why you didn't interview the actual organizers of the "Chinese
Americans for Trump" campaign, and report their true intention in expressing
their political view protected by the First Amendment. As a member of the
Chinese American community, I want to reemphasize to you and your readers/
audiences that, we, as American citizens, tax payers, and voters, have as
much love to this country and as much respect to the US democracy as any
other ethnic groups in this nation. Wang, who you quoted in the report, is
an international student from China, and not a member of Chinese American
community. Whatever he thought and had to say has nothing to do with why we
vote and how we vote in this election. I sincerely urge you to retract this
report and apologize to the Chinese American community.
Sincerely,

was listening to the FM 94.9 on monday morning, it is not about how we were
mistakenly represented by an international chinese student, but NPR
journalist actually intentionally used that report to label people like us..
this is not something new, it has been some kind of anti-china culture out
there for really long time.. | d***n 发帖数: 832 | |
