发帖数: 604 | 1 一直想去的试snowmachine的，但是他们去的地方经常阴天，所以看到有一个周末比较
晴朗，天气也还好就赶紧定了一个tour guide去看冰川。结果那天下午只有我们俩。到
了地方先套上wintersuite，当时我穿了俩个羊绒毛衣，一个羽绒马甲，一个博外套，
再加上一个winter suite，简直是个熊。脸上套上ski mask,戴上头盔，put on ski goggle, 穿上靴子，套
上手套，准备完毕。
snowmobile很简单，把手上只有一个加速的和刹车，还有个纽是用来倒车的。加速的只
要达到一定速度车就开了。我比较喜欢的是把手是加热的，还有两个不同的加热挡。刚
开的时候不太会控制速度和方向，所以开得歪歪扭扭，后来熟悉了就很简单了，左转弯
把重心放左边，有转放右边，所以屁股扭来扭去的，snowmobile神奇的地方时可以压过
马路，小溪，灌木丛。。。当然还有雪地。 |

发帖数: 604 | 2 后来开的正欢的时候，guide竟然停下来了，我正奇怪为什么，随着guide目光望后，看
见后面远处领导的头和挥着小手，原来他翻车了。。：）
远处的雪山上有滑过的痕迹，我问guide是不是滑雪留下来的, 她回答说是有人
snowmachine上去的，我当时简直不能相信，这么都陡山都能开得上去。Guide解释说他
们的snowmachine比较高级。还是咋舌。。。
穿过树林，冰冻的池塘，灌木丛，小溪。。。一个小时后，终于到达了冰川。。。巨大
的冰块插在地上，严格来讲不是地上，是冰冻的湖上。。整个湖都冻起来了，所以可以
一直开到冰川前。夏天冰化了，就不能近前看了，并且夏天雪化了冰化了，也没有路到
湖边。荒野hike 30 miles 可是行不太通。。
大自然真是鬼斧神工，看到蓝莹莹的冰块和冰柱，真像艺术品。。 |

guide说是他们的老板，估计在泡mm。。。。倒是个幽静的好地方。Guide过去打了个招
呼，他们就溜了。。不好意思，打扰他们的气氛了。
近处看冰川，好蓝好滑溜。。。像假的一样，让我想起了seaworld。 |

post here other funs you have at AK, maybe more people
will join you moving to AK.
BTW, any story of why you moved to Anchorage/AK? Curious,
anything you hate/dislike about it?
I personally love the pristine and grand sceneries of
AK, mostly friendly people (the northier the better),
and wonderful wildlife. Dogs were cherished too.
But attracted as I am, I was there for a short tour,
would love to hear from you locals about the life :)

been to and I have been to quite a number of places. It is so much fun to
live here that every weekend I am so exhausted.
What I hate about this place is that there is no big shopping malls!
People typically come here due to work related reasons and many of them stay
here because they find that they love it here. But a lot of people move out
of the state too because of the long and dark winter.
I will post more about AK.

about another 30 miles away from the highway.

as for dark days, fortunately there is everywhere else, all
just one night away for once a year hide-away. Shopping mall?
Maybe, but I feel sufficiently supplied with backcountry,
amazon + local bike/ski/adventure shops.
The biggest worry I have is the food :) |

it is not too horribly cold here actually. we would typically have two weeks
of single digit days during end of Dec or beginning of Jan. 十二月，一月和
二月一般比较冷，大约十几度，有时候“暖流"来了,温度会回升到30多度，所以
anchorage 冬天很脏，一面撒沙子，一面化雪，大家很少洗车。
温度是10度以下的时候，anchorage 也是非常得漂亮，因为雾凇 （ice fog），所有的
树都晶莹剔透，比下雪还漂亮。
至于吃的吗，就想我妈担心的，in the winter所有的蔬菜水果都是飞机运过来的，所以比较贵，我冬
天从来不吃西瓜，只啃苹果。但是这里没有sales tax, 没有state tax， |

But I dont think I can survive the long, dark, cold winter there, I will be
so depressed. I need a lot of sunshine, : )

is bring a bottle of vodka and a glass with me, and go next to that big
chunk of ice, and have me a vodka on the rocks :)
btw there's some weird thing covering that mm's face, please have her remove

发帖数: 408 | 19 Thanks for updating the pictures. This is amazing. A few years back in
summer, we took a cruise to Alaska, only got to Glacier national park, it
was already breath-takingly beautiful. I also took a helicopter tour to the
Mendenhal(?) glacier, it was like an ice river. We walk on it and flew down
the valley. But we did not get as close to such a cave there. The guide said
we could ski on it during winter times :)

ski, skate ski, skijoring, downhill, snowboard, skating on the frozen pond..
..I haven't even tried the crazy stuff and I don't think I can pull it off..
..like ski all the way up to the top of the mountain, crust ski... ..some
stuff that you'd never heard before....
The sunset right now is around 8:00pm and soon it will be around 9:00pm in
early April. It is amazing. I have bruises all over me now and this morning
