You can do software RAID or hardware RAID. Check

The purpose I want to do RAID is that.
1. record every transaction the website has
2. when Linux OS crashed, I don't need rebuild the machine, just copy from
RAID
based on above requirement, how many hard disk I need? They must be SCSI? or
desktop hard disk will be ok?
