Title: Healthcare Outcomes Analyst
Position Purpose Statement
The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst is responsible for analyzing clinical and
economic outcomes for Pharos's customers, and for developing analytical
systems and processes to provide continuous measurement of customer results
and business processes. The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst is also responsible
for the management of medical claims data, operational data, client
performance reports, and the development of analytical tools and reports.
The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst is Pharos’s subject matter expert on
statistical modeling, data mining, data architecture, and analytical systems
and tools.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity, initially part time with the
potential to convert to full time in mid-2011. Compensation is $300-$500
per day or $60,000 to $90,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Relationships
Internal: The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst will cooperate closely with sales,
marketing, account services, and IT personnel.
External: The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst will interact with personnel from
current and potential customers to obtain necessary data and interpret
results. As needed, the Analyst will interact with vendors, consultants,
and other specialists.
Education/Experience Requirements
Minimum Experience Level 5 years in health care analytics
Minimum Education Level Bachelor's degree
Desired Level of: Experience 7-10 years in health care analytics, with
progressively increasing responsibility to management/leadership level
Desired Education Level Advanced degree
The most important attributes for success in the Healthcare Outcomes Analyst
position are (1) initiative and ability to work independently, (2) creative
problem solving skills, (3) analytical skills, and (4) project management
skills. The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst should be able to collaborate well
with others, communicate effectively across organizational levels, and
translate Pharos's business needs into practical applications and solutions.
The Healthcare Outcomes Analyst must possess demonstrated experience in
population identification, interventions, profiling, outcomes evaluations,
and cohort analysis, as well as current and future trends in healthcare
informatics. Familiarity with UB92, ICD-9, and DRG billing and claims
terminology and formatting is strongly preferred. The Healthcare Outcomes
Analyst must be familiar with computer systems and database management.
Experience with SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, .NET, Crystal
Reports, and TrendStar or other billing and claims systems, is preferred.
