I would like to cordially invite you to consider contributing your expertise
to a forthcoming book entitled Encyclopedia of Business Analytics and
Optimization. As Editor, I am actively searching for quality material that
would be of interest to our audience. This is a wonderful opportunity since
contributing authors are generally viewed by others as experts in the sub-
field(s) of their chapter content. In addition, you are more than welcome to
forward this message to any scholar(s) who might be interested in
participating in this project.

Yes, we are facing and witnessing a new age, which is highly data-driven (“
Big Data”). Data is the driver and motivator of business analytics research
and practice. These developments pose huge challenges, present new
opportunities, and demonstrate the importance and role of business analytics
in responding to and aiding in this new economy. Business Analytics
consists of four overlapping areas: Data Mining, Business Process
Optimization, Applied Business Statistics, and Business Intelligence/
Information systems. Business Analytics focuses on developing new insights
and understanding into business performance as a result of different methods
and techniques. This has been increasingly recognized by organizations for
their potential value and is considered a new path towards transforming
insights into action.
The Encyclopedia of Business Analytics and Optimization will provide the
latest in comprehensive coverage and up-to-date definitions of the most
important issues, concepts, trends and technologies in business analytics
and optimization. This publication will be distributed widely among academic
and professional institutions and will be instrumental in providing
managers, executives, researchers, scholars, students and professionals’
access to the latest knowledge related to business analytics and
optimization. Contributions to this important publication will be made by
scholars throughout the world with notable research portfolios and expertise.
Should you accept this invitation, you may email your proposal to me at

but no later than June 15, 2012. Your brief proposal should include: your
name, affiliation, selected topic title, classification (A: Data Mining; B:
Business Process Optimization; C: Applied Business Statistics; D: Business
Intelligence/Information systems; E: Other), and brief description of the
proposed article. You will be notified about the status of your proposal in
due course. Should your proposal be accepted, you will have two months to
submit your chapter (3,000-5,000 words) upon which it will be sent for a
double-blind peer review. The book is scheduled to be published by IGI

Please note there is no processing fee either for reviewing process or for
publication. Publisher will provide contributors to the encyclopedia with a
