C********7 发帖数: 3	3 Suppose you get a sample data set and want to do regression analysis, then the effect you get from this sample data set is the fixed effect.Random effect is the effect that the data set regarding to the whole population that the data set come out as a sample. Not sure if you understand this but it will be helpful if you can find a text book concept with examples.
