WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Securities regulators will consider new short-sale
restrictions on Wednesday, more than a year after the financial crisis
provoked cries to rein in investors who bet on a stock's decline.
The Securities and Exchange Commission is expected to vote on rules that
would restrict short selling in a company's stock if that stock fell
precipitously, a person familiar with the SEC plan said.
