In a recent letter to a U.S. house lawmaker, Secretary of the U.S. Treasury
Department Timothy Geithner said debt from government-sponsored entities
Fannie Mae (FNM) and Freddie Mac (FRE) should not be considered as part of
Treasury's debt, according to reports.
