Alibaba Group has held talks with Singapore’s Temasek Holdings about
providing financing to allow Alibaba to buy back the 40% stake in the
company owned by Yahoo, Bloomberg reports, citing “people familiar with the
matter.”
The story said that Temasek is not interested in buying Yahoo But it added
that the arrangement which likely be part of a takeover bid for Yahoo with
the private equity firm Silver Lake And Russia’s DST Global.
Meanwhile, Reuters is reporting that Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang is in
interested in teaming with private equity investors to take the company
private. Yang had a 3.63% stake in the company.
And the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Yahoo has dropped out of the
bidding for the video site Hulu in order to focus on its own issues.
YHOO this morning is up 48 cents, or 3.1%, to $15.95. |
