SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Yahoo Inc. may receive a bid from private-equity
firm Silver Lake Partners, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and
Microsoft Corp. , The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, citing
unidentified sources. Microsoft would provide several billion dollars of
funding, according to the report, with Silver Lake and the investment board
making up the rest of the potential purchase price but contributing less
than Microsoft. Yahoo has been weighing up its options recently, and
according to the report, at least nine private-equity firms have been
running a ruler over the firm. | Z****g
