they can bring down the overall cost. We should see some of those mines
out of business. This is how bear market works, chasing the incompetent
players out of this business.
it's not rare for commodity price falling below the production cost.
the producers need to keep their facilities running, otherwise they
get rusted quickly. In some states, they may lose their permit if they
stop operating for a while. So producers will keep their operations
as long as they can afford to. However, their continious production would
keep adding on the supply side, further crashing the commodity price, until
some of the producers are forced to close after running out of their cash.
when the demands pick up, it would take years for them to come back as
both permit application and raising new capitals takes time.

起来，所以黄金的供给不仅仅来源于采矿，那么决定黄金价格的就应该不只是它的开采

their business plan. Just like many oil companies buy put or some long term
contract at fixed problem.
Short term (6-9 months), they should have no problem. After one year, those
long term contract will expire, then they will have to reduce their
production. |

Agree, it's very possible that gold could go to $800 level. These days gold
industry is very low, much less than silver. Most of gold are just stored
for the perception of 保值. Once people realize that it's no longer the case
, then the demand will go down.
