Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Systems Biology: Analysis of the Host Cell
Signaling Network Controlling
Pathogen Entry into Human Cells
to join the research group of Prof. Christoph Dehio This position is part of
“InfectX”, a collaborative project
funded by SystemsX.ch – the Swiss Initiative in Systems Biology
The aim of the InfectX project is to use a systems biology approach to
decipher the host cell signaling
network
controlling entry of a diverse set of bacterial and viral pathogens in order
to define novel drug targets for
anti-
infectives. In this context our laboratory will study the host cell
signaling pathways controlling entry and
intracellular replication of the related bacterial pathogens Bartonella and
Brucella. Key technologies and
methods applied by the successful candidates are genome-wide RNA
interference (RNAi) screens, multi-
dimensional fluorescence microscopy, surface- and phospho-proteomics, as
well as conventional
biochemical
and cell biological methods, which in collaboration with computational
modelers will facilitate signal
transduction pathway reconstruction.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals with a degree in biology or
biochemistry and solid
knowledge and working experience in cell biology. It is a distinct
advantage to have experience of working
within a
Systems Biology framework. Experience in studying eukaryotic signal
transduction and/or intracellular
trafficking processes are an asset, as is experience of high throughput
screening. The positions are funded
for a maximum of 3 years. For questions please contact Prof. Christoph Dehio
(c*************[email protected]).
Applications should include a letter of motivation, a full c.v., and the
names of 2-3 references and be sent
electronically to r************[email protected].
Additional Information:
The Biozentrum is an internationally renowned institute for basic life
science research. With over 400
employees from 30 countries, it is the largest natural science department of
the University of Basel. About
30
research groups engage in interdisciplinary research, and are in close
contact with local life sciences
industry.
The working language at the institution is English. SystemsX.ch is a Swiss
research consortium with eight
universities and three research institutions. More than 100 research groups
devoted to Systems Biology
collaborate in 14 Research-, Technology- and Development programs. | m*******r 发帖数: 7495 | | m*******r 发帖数: 7495 | 3 basel的Michael Hall怎么样?
