J2:07/10/26登陆,持EAD外州工作,无州税。
听说J1头两年可以免SSN/Medicare。
这种情况算R还是NR?似乎J1头两年算NR。
如果J2也算NR的话SSN/Medicare似乎可以省下不少。
能否联合报税,似乎合报的话J1的免税又不可以了。
好像很麻烦,IRS的条款说得又不明不白。。。
哪位有经验的能否帮忙看一下

need to file seperate NR return.
J2 needs to pay SSN/Medicare even though NR. |

but I want to know since we have all been here during 2008,
why can't we be resident?
