PlayStation
A wide rash of game-crashing errors is spreading among the PS3-owning
community at the moment, most of which can be chalked up to a 8001050F
error code. This has led to a variety of unfortunate side-effects for
those affected, including corrupted trophy information and an
inability to access the PSN. When combined, those two issues prevent

Wrong, pal. I know this because I tried that. Even went into the
settings and disabled internet connection.
Any game that syncs for trophy information or draws info from PSN when
trying to boot, won't boot.

Breaking News
It's unclear exactly what's going on at the moment, but it appears
that the PlayStation Network is down and causing a whole host of related
problems for PS3 systems, including 8001050F error codes, game crashes,
corrupted trophy info, and even the complete inability to launch
certain titles. There's no ETA on when things will get back to normal --
looks like it's gonna be a Blu-ray kind of even
