On a cold Sunday night last April, I said goodbye to Iris Chang.
I'd driven her back to her hotel after dinner in Chinatown where we talked
about her latest book, "The Chinese in America: A Narrative History." After
she delivered all the tidy quotes a reporter could ask for, our dinner
conversation eased into other things.
