发帖数: 6973 | 2 (1) Reuters reported ten hours ago: "Chinese May CPI inflation eases to 7.7
pct-sources."
However, the report said the OFFICIAL figure will be released Thursday.
(2) A few days ago, I was surprised that the Ma administration was overly
opmistic about Taiwan's economic prospect. See
Taiwan to see 5% growth, says CEPD. China Post (Taiwan), June 5, 2008,
where CEPD stands for cabinet-level Council for Economic Planning and
Development.

发帖数: 1262 | 3 sure,大陸的社會問題是靠經濟發展掩蓋的，高通脹雖然使民眾生活水準下降，
但只要不引發金融危機，是可以忍受的。經濟增長率小于8%的話，
就業率就無法保證，社會問題一觸即發。不過也好在一黨獨大的專治體系，
會有效控制問題的發展，其中當然會侵犯民眾的利益，但回轉的周期會變短。
對于臺灣來講，如何看待大陸的這些問題，也應該比較復雜，
于臺獨人士來看，唯有大陸內亂才有機會，但同時也要冒戰爭的風險，
因為一黨專政的體系使的共黨很有可能采取戰爭方式轉嫁內部矛盾，
而臺灣當然不讓。于馬政府來講，現在需要挽救臺灣本身經濟，對抗通貨膨脹，
把90%的期望放在大陸身上，何況還有400億美元的順差，自然不希望其中有任何差錯。
綜合說來，大陸經濟衰退目前對臺灣沒有好處。

(1) I know my limits and dare not comment too much about China, especially "
社會問題." HOWEVER, I have never comprehended why China set the magic number
of minimal 8% GDP growth rate annually. Back in old days, China came
through well below that number. I don't expect you to know. But I have
always questioned it. Anyway, World Bank just lower its projection for this
year. See my posting in an hour.

besides inflation.

The newspaper does not offer the report free online. one or 2 websites have
this report but without graphs that appear with WSJ.
