Position Overview (Brief Description of Position, Size of Team, Etc.):
We are seeking Chemical Engineer candidates to lead the development, process
design, and implementation of improved
and new chemical processes. The Engineer will have a primary focus on the
utilization of fundamental principle process simulation, empirical modeling,
manufacturing optimization modeling, and computational tools for process
design,
optimization, and cost estimation. The Engineer will lead R&D programs with
the intent of dramatically increasing
product yields, reducing energy usage and waste generation, improving
product quality and service, and lowering raw
material costs. The Engineer will lead programs and manage projects to
research, develop, and advance process
technology from the laboratory scale, through the pilot scale, and into
commercial implementation, using
experimentation, modeling, and statistical tools to predict and design
practical manufacturing processes. It is expected
that the engineer will become an expert in the utilization of process
simulation and computational tools and will guide or
support other professionals in effective utilization of modeling tools.
The Engineer will also utilize and oversee analytical and physical property
characterization in support of project tasks and
will work with a variety of organizational functions, including: production
engineers, process engineers, process chemists,
and application developers. The position will likely require light travel (
domestic and foreign) to facilitate growth and
improved productivity within Momentive manufacturing sites globally.
