Because two of your entries cannot be seated at the same table, if you have
more entries than there are tables left in the tournament, two of your
entries will merge together. When an entry merger takes place, whichever
entry is being moved from a broken table will be merged with your entry that
has the smallest stack.
For example, say you have three entries and there are three tables left in a
Multi-Entry Tournament. One table breaks, so your entry from that table
will merge with your entry with the smallest stack and the chips for both of
those entries will be combined into one stack.

guaranteed MTTs are short of players, and FTP has to pay a lot in overlay
these days.
for example, fifty-fifty, 50K guarantee ($50+5), normally only about 900
players (FTP needs at least 1K ppl to break even).
they have tried to solve this for a while, by adding longer late-reg etc.,
but still, in such a bad economy and with tightened UIGEA, fewer ppl are
playing now.

A lot of regulars will lower their average BUYINs.
Nowadays, I usually do not play those 5$ or 10$ tourneys, however, if they
do introduce multiple entry policys, I will play more of those 10$ tourneys,
supposing I have a huge advantage on 5$, 10$ buyin MTTs.
As you may know, the In To Money ratio in MTT is around 13%. If your edge is
big in one MTT, the ITM ratio could pump to 25%, plus your FT chance, your
top 3 is higher than average players in the field also.
With these kind of analysis, I guess this policy has some problems.

when the last two tables merge to final table, those with two entries left
will merge and get a huge stack while single entry big stack may become
relatively "short stack". With possibly tens of entries (or even more) in a
tourney, it is like you can do "unlimited rebuy" no matter how large your
stack is. single entry here is worse than going into a rebuy game with

and usually multiple entry tourney has a huge field (>1000) the chance you
can combine you chips into final talbe is pretty slim . I think multiple
entries can give good players more chance to run deep. BTW, why dont you
guys like rebuy game? Last Saturday, MPT event 1, none of you rebought
except me. pretty odd.

from my experience, this gives more chance to play your favorite game.
Suppose you like to play fifty-fifty, then you can play it 4 times in one
single day.
It helps ftp for sure, but also helps you to play your favorite games more.
It does not help you final table that much.
Mitbbs's second chance tourney format is good. It gives you extra chance to
play.
Do not know whether FTP will change double games' rules.

1) the players has opinion. Some might not favor it at all. Well, FTP can
just
do portion of MTT that way. Still, there is risk.
2) all the online tracking sites need to make some change to catch
this information. So do FTP internal data warehouse.
