Hero is at HJ with KdJd, 10 players altogether, 2 or 3 limpers ahead, I
raised to 18 (comtemplating a steal on the flop with position), button (a
very very tight player with around 200 euros) reraised to 38, all folds to
me. I should have folded, but anyhow, can't resist and make the call.
Flop: 9d10dJs
What a flop for me! I am so happy inside, button must have QQ, KK or AA,
either case, I am not behind at least. I don't want to risk more, and just
push all in for the last 180 euros. He doesn't hesitate and make the call
and showed AA. I don't like his call, but await for the destiny.
Turn: Qh
River: Kh
I lost the huge pot.
I know it is a dramatic turn and river. But what should I do preflop, flop?
My thinking now:
(1) On preflop: since I am oop, KJs is trash in a reraised pot, I should
fold. I just can't resist myself. How can I stick to the tight policy after
facing cold cards for 2 more hours? Really ask for suggestion.
(2) On flop, when facing such a heavy flop for me, should I check call the
flop, or check raise all in on the flop, or lead out on the flop?? I wanted
to minimize the variance, so just lead out all in and hope to scare AA away.
(3) if I check call on the flop, and the turn comes Qh, is there any way
that I can maximize my value? in my view, button has QQ, KK or AA. If I lead
out, for a tight aggressive player, AA will fold, QQ will call, KK will all
in, right?
(4) River really sucks, after such a 7% suck out, I can't sooth myself and
went on losing another 200 euros. How can I sooth myself and still pay calm
rational poker in that situation?
