Lassen NP玩，想这样安排日程，大家帮忙看看，是否还可以更加合理的安排一下日程
，先谢了。
第一天：北加 San Jose早上出发，前往Redding,沿途随便玩一下，目的地是Redding,
夜宿Redding.
第二天：从Redding出发去Crater Lake,当天来回，夜宿Redding
第三天：在Redding附近的Shasta Lake玩一下，晚上看Redding的焰火(7/4)。夜宿
Redding
第四天：一早出发去Lassen NP, 打算 Drive Thru the park,然后打道回府。 |

有人知道Lassen 火山 Park的情况如何？难道也没全开？

right next to redding, there's whiskeytown lake national recreation area.
you should check it out if u r going to spend time in redding. nothing in
redding anyway.

It seems I should definitely cancel the Crater Lake plan. May be stop by a
little bit on Lassen park for where ever they have opened. Then may be go to
Burney Fall nearby?
I heard both Lassen and Burney fall are not so far from redding.
Of course, should stop by the whiskeytown lake too.
Anyone has further experiences or suggestions? Thanks again in advanced.

发帖数: 2659 | 6 i dont' consider burney fall close to lassen. quite a drive. also, the south
entrance of lassen is closer to everything. the northwest entrance close to
a lake, which is not that great. a lot of big people swam in that and
fishing over there and that's pretty much it.
i dont' recommend that lake at all.
just dont' think those lakes close to that entrance represent the park.
hahaha. or you will be extremely disappointed.

It seems I should start from South entrance instead of North? What kind of
spots in the park are worth to stop by if start from south?
Also, I heard Burney fall is more close to North -but not sure how much
difference if go from south.....

entrance just skip the lake and drive on. but i don't think the main road is
completely open

condition for me.
It's a bad news to hear that the main park road is still partially closed.
In that case, seems I can not drive thru the entire park.
If I want to drive partially the park and also stop by the burney fall, what
is the best route I should go?( start from redding)

most of the things are there. you may need to consider change your time to
visit the park is you are starting from redding.
they still do not have a estimated opening time for this year. maybe July
but you never know if it's going to be the one or not.
if you want to explore. the butte lake part of lassen park is also nice.
they have cinder cone there and it's quite pretty. but it's not the main
part of the park and it's not that popular. but i like that part of the park
too. the painted dunes is very nice under the morning/late afternoon sun.
not as big as the ones in death valley, but it's still amazing.
for the main road, you have to pray. hahahah
or you need to take a big detour to take 89 from south. since everything's
there. ie bumpass hell and sulphur works and things. lassen peak is still
snow covered and they limited the access to it due to contructions. you need
to refer to their web page for details if you want to hike the peak.
brokeoff mountain is more difficult than the peak in my opinion but depends
how much hiking exp you have.

suggestions.
I really don't want to take a big circle to the south entrance from Redding.
However, seems no other choice at this moment(already booked the hotel in
redding).
Actually we have couple of families are planing to go together and most of
them have old parents and small kids. So, we won't be able to hike much in
the park.Hopefully the main park road will open as much as they can during
our visit so that we only need to walk a bit or stop by some major view
point-most of time just drive thru as much as we can:-)
I will also definitely check the butte lake and heard before the cinder cone
is very pretty, beautiful.

but the trail will not be easy for them.

你天天看他们的update看看有没有开好了。不然绕去南边也是1个多2个小时extra，应
该还好吧。
burney falls 一下午就看完了。很短的trail。要不就考虑trinity，whiskeytown，和
shasta 那边好了

我就天天上你提供的网站看看他们的路况进展，初步打算多开一点绕去南边，从主要的
南门进去，几个主要景点随便停停，到此一游（照几张Picture-hehe),反正能开多远是
多远吧（视路况而定），可能直接是无法穿公园从北门出了，只能先出南门，再开到
Burney Fall，对吗？或者还有什么好建议？我是打算一天时间走马观花把这两个点都
解决了。

Yes, you are right, it's probably too tired to go two places in one day.
We probably will choose to go one day for lassen park and another half day
for burney fall.
BTW: I heard in lassen NP, there is no cell phone signal? Is that true?
If yes, what is the best way to communicate? may be Walky Talky?

You did mention above that there is one more spot called "trinity" near
redding.
May I know what is this place(trinity) and what we can do in this place?
Guess it should be very nearby redding?
