area is much smaller, plus there is no lake in houston, but you do have the
option to go to the galveston beach, which is 50 miles south of houston.
the only thing interesting in houston is the nasa museum, but don't drive
all the way down there just to see the museum, unless you are a true science
nerd, :).
San Antonio is a more interesting place to visit, you can go see the river
and the alamo battle place. Austin is just an university town, there are
also some old buildings since it is the capital of texas. |

and march, most of the places are still under chilly weather. maybe ny and
dc? i visited those 2 places back in decem of 07, seeing all the
skyscrapers on the broadway st and taking a walk in the central park was
definitely mind blowing.
And after seeing all the people, cars and crowdness in ny, you drive south
to DC, you will be amazed by how quiet and peaceful DC is. It is just like a
small town, nothing compare to beijing or ny. |

to see aurora. unfortunately, there are no national holidays in march, so
im planning to go there in sept, during the wk of the labor day. it is only
january now, 8 more months......... |
