今天才知道跑马拉松原来有两堵墙。
Coolsaet says the famous “wall” is the most difficult thing to overcome as
a marathoner.
But there are actually two walls a runner can hit, only one of which has
affected him.
“There’s a wall where you run out of fuel . . . and I’ve never
experienced that in a marathon,” he says.
“The other wall . . . would be just the pounding and your legs get really
tired. But that wall is not as bad — you can run through it and just tough
up.”
Happily for Coolsaet, this wall has been coming later and later in his races.
“It keeps getting pushed back a little bit and one day I hope it gets
pushed back to 42K.”

我觉得我去年把两堵墙都撞了。 :-(
先是30K是腿没劲了,然后是后来fuel烧光了连走路都走不动了。
希望今年好好carb loading再多带点儿GELs,保证不run out of fuel。另外一堵墙到
时候争取把它tough过去。

很难相信伦敦奥运会是他第5个马拉松!!
俺估计也再跑一个马就不跑了, 转练5k/10k...

第二堵墙经常撞,这种情况发生,我都是加快摆臂的速度,这样可以带动腿

我也听说强有力的摆臂是好的跑步姿势的一部分。昨天试了一下,加强摆臂动作可以减
轻腿的压力,还可以配合送胯。

我有个fuel belt,上面能系10个, 不过上次好像就吃了4个,
太热了,不想吃东西...

i hit the 2nd wall for my last two 17 milers. actually the one on last
Sunday was even worse. i think it is because the rain earlier made the trail
bit between mile 9 and mile 11 not in a runnable conditions. it was even
more demanding to walk under such conditions compared to when it was dry.
after mile 14 my legs were so tired and my right arm went numb... i cannot
concentrate. the experience was indeed very devastating, but i am still glad
that i did that run as it was the right thing to do.
my question is will every long be like this? or i am just not ready for long
run?

you are doing great, your body is adapting, you should feel
much better on your next one, if not, rest for a week(no long run)..

how come it gets worse for the second time? for 13 milers and 15 milers it
always gets better for the second time.
i really want to build up my long run to 23 mile for at least once. as i am
not sure whether i can make it to 26 miles if i only run 20 milers
previously.
is it still too early for me to run a marathon? and after this one, i
probably will never run a road race any more unless it is big 4 or part of
tri. i will convert to trail running, so much fun!

Honestly you are a little rushing for a full marathon,
FM is totally different with a half marathon, although
they all called 'marathon'. normally it would take at least
6 months after a HM for preparing a full marathon.
18/20mi is totally differenct with the 13/15mi mid long run,
you need to take it real slowly, walk break is fine.
If you are tired this week, rest for a week then, try
18mi next week. 20mi long is good enough, dont try any
farther, at least for your first training cycle. you
can get injury. It is more important to stand on the start line
healthy.
And yes, trail run is more fun than road running, at
least for some ppl.

其实你下个long run说不定就会feel much better...
我记得我当初也是第一次跑16迈感觉超级痛苦, 然后再跑第一次18迈反而
感觉好多了, 再到20+迈就都没啥感觉了...
long run刚开始一定要慢,先慢慢晃10迈再说...

但是那些横渡的,没听说有明显的撞墙感。

这些横渡的,中间也会停下来,一边踩水一边吃东西。
只要endurance sports, 都会有撞墙的可能。

现在最长的还没有游过三迈以上。。。。
这个要到公开水域,池子里不停转身一个小时就抽筋了。

补充能量肯定是需要的。

长距离游泳一般都是有补给船跟着的, 游不动了可不像跑步迈不动步子就完了,
直接就淹死了...
水里消耗能量更多,毕竟人在水里不游泳就要损失热量, 要不停地吃东西才行的...

想起来了
游泳有撞墙的
蝶泳发力游,体力不支的时候会瞬间做不出动作。
所以没有实力心中没底的话,蝶泳不敢一上来就拼。

蝶泳没法慢游。会动作完全走样,游不下去。
其他泳姿都能减速降频游完。蝶泳要真撞墙了只能放弃了。

我感到安慰了,学不会蝶泳不是我的错,是太难了。。。。
