according to two non-partisan political analysts.
Washington (CNN) – The Massachusetts Senate race between Democrat Martha
Coakley and Republican Scott Brown is now a tossup, according to two
respected, non-partisan analysts.

Leading House progressives say that if Democrat Martha Coakley loses her bid
for Senate in Massachusetts next week, that may well be it for health care
reform.
"I believe that to be true," said Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), House
progressives' point person on health care reform. "I think there are enough

become very clear by now. Forget "only 1 vote shy"
if Coakley would lose, many democrats in Congress
would run for cover because they'd be worrying about
their own upcoming reelections.
They would likely change their stances subtly - not
180 degrees but enough to let the bills either fall
through or reach a face-saving compromise that doesn't
really do anything.
As I noted earlier this week, if Coakley loses her election next week,
