Veterans and conservatives descended on Washington, DC, to join the 'Million
Vet March' on Sunday.
They removed barricades (or "Barrycades"):

And one protestor carried a confederate flag, which has provoked a harsh
reaction from the left. Liberal blogger John Aravosis writes, "The Palin-
Cruz Tea Partyers are allied with southern confederate flag-waving racists."
Some conservatives were also critical - including David Frum:

staffers who condemned the flag's appearance at the protests:
