directly’
by Jammie
So, the ObamaCare website is humming along now, huh? Note this portion,
dated December 4.
No matter how you apply for coverage and select a plan through the
Marketplace, you need to pay your premium on or before December 31, 2013 in
order to have coverage by January 1, 2014. Although you compare and choose
a plan using the Health Insurance Marketplace, once you select a plan, you
must pay your premium to the insurance company directly – not to the Health
Insurance Marketplace. If you select a plan on Healthcare.gov, you will
see an orange message indicating you must make payment to be covered on
January 1.
Here’s a screenshot. Click to enlarge.
As you can clearly see, they’re not yet prepared to handle payments, you
might not even know if you’re insured, but fuck you, pay me. Wait. Pay them
, we mean. Well, at least Obama has sufficiently distracted the media with
his class warfare shtick, so few will notice.
Oh, and by the way, if your ID is stolen after enrolling, and chances are it
will be, good luck with that.
Americans who buy health insurance through the federal Obamacare
exchange website could have their personal information stolen by hackers and
never even know it.
Most of the state-run health exchange websites will be covered by state
laws that require notification when government databases are breached by
hackers. But there is no law requiring notification when databases run by
the federal government are breached, and even though the Department of
Health and Human Services was asked to include a notification provision in
the rules being drawn up for the new federal exchange, it declined to do so. |
