发帖数: 29846 | 1 Eighteen out of 20 illegal immigrant children failed to appear in court for
their immigration hearings in Texas on Tuesday, Dallas News reported.
On average, 46 percent of minors fail to appear to their immigration trails.
The absentee rate was so high that federal Immigration Judge Michael Baird
rescheduled the court date to Aug. 11, in case the children were not
properly notified of the hearing.
These children are a small part of the 100,000 unaccompanied minors from
Latin America who have illegally entered the United States in the last two
fiscal years.
President Obama has called the immigration surge of unaccompanied minors a
“humanitarian crisis.” However, he has yet to visit the U.S.–Mexico
border during his fundraising trips to Texas and California. |
