赶着要改的bug就完全手忙脚乱了。

前几年cost没有涨那是因为经济危机，现在经济好了又开始要涨了。你可以回去看看
2007以前每年premium要涨多少。

25，现在是高额deductibles后才可以保险付钱。其次，原先的保险绝大部分医生都可
以看，现在是一大部分医生拒看。
我两个熟人最近要生小孩，告诉我她们基本是自费了。

据。
就拿这个保险涨价，你随便一查就会找到Obamacare绝对不是涨价的主因（连10%的次因
都算不上），但是你没有去做研究，而是跑过来发个帖，大家在一起骂娘感觉爽很多。
我觉得挺可悲的。

November is important for more than just elections. It’s also kicked off
open enrollment for health insurance policies sold through the Affordable
Care Act’s federal and state exchanges. And as millions of patients across
the country just found out, premiums and out-of-pocket costs for 2016 are
increasing significantly—many by much more than expected.
That’s the conclusion of a new report from McKinsey & Company. The
consulting firm found premiums for the lowest-cost plans across all tiers—
bronze, silver, gold and platinum—will increase by a median of 10-13% in
2016. The lowest-priced silver plans, which account for fully 70% of the
exchange market, will increase by 11%—four percentage points higher than
2015 plans.
The news is worse still for members of the Affordable Care Act’s failed
insurance co-ops. These government-sponsored nonprofits generally offered
lower rates. Yet despite receiving $1.2 billion in taxpayer money, 12 of the
law’s 23 co-ops have now failed, with many of the remaining 11 on life
support. This has left over 750,000 families and individuals scrambling to
find new health insurance before their current plans expire at the end of
this year.
Don’t blame the insurers
So, why are these increases happening? While it may be easy to blame
insurers, many of them are actually losing money despite the higher premiums
. According to data from McKinsey, insurers selling plans on the exchanges
spent $2.5 billion more than they brought in via premiums in 2014. Across
the country, nearly two-thirds lost money on exchange plans last year, while
23% only barely stayed in the black.
That’s why premiums are on the rise. As Idaho’s insurance director
responded to his state’s 23% proposed hikes, it is disappointing but “not
unreasonable.”
The real culprit for higher costs is a federal healthcare law that mandates
a one-size-fits-all approach to medicine—and the further we get into its
implementation, the worse it gets.
Case in point: 2016 will be the first time insurance actuaries have a full
year’s worth of data to inform their rates. The first year, 2014, was a
guessing game—they were operating in the Affordable Care Act’s brave new
world. And this year’s rates were only based on six months of data by the
time they were due.
Now, insurance companies can finally analyze the cost of complying with the
Affordable Care Act’s myriad coverage mandates and restrictions. The
results are in the looming premium hikes.
Why costs will continue to rise
What’s more is that premiums are expected to continue increasing through
2017 and beyond. That’s when the Affordable Care Act’s two central cost-
concealing provisions—and the associated taxpayer handouts—will expire.
The first is called “re-insurance,” which uses taxpayer dollars to
subsidize the highest-cost patients. The second is “risk corridors,”
through which insurers are compensated for higher-than-anticipated costs—
like they experienced in 2014 and 2015. Once these programs expire, the lost
revenue will have to be replaced—and it will come directly in the form of
higher premiums. Dr. Stephen Parente of the Carlson School of Management at
the University of Minnesota has estimated what families and individuals can
expect to pay.
Using a health insurance simulation model funded in part by the U.S.
Department of Health and Human Services, Dr. Parente estimates the
expiration of these programs will cause average premiums for middle-of-the-
road silver plans to jump another 12.1% and 9.2% for individual and family
policies, respectively, in 2017. And the years after that will only see
further hikes.
Subsidies will do nothing to cover deductibles
In the face of this evidence, the Affordable Care Act’s supporters point
out that premium increases in states like California and Washington have
been relatively modest, averaging in the low-to-mid single digits. It’s
also true that many of these premium spikes are mitigated through the law’s
premium subsidies. Yet many states with lower premium hikes were already
among the highest in the nation pre-Affordable Care Act. They also come with
tradeoffs of narrowing physician networks and fewer choices—problems that
are now widespread across America.
As for the subsidies, they’ll do nothing to cover the average deductibles
of $2,927 and $6,010 for individual and family silver plans obtained through
the exchanges. According to a March 2015 study from the Kaiser Family
Foundation, less than one-fifth of low-income families can afford such high
deductibles, while just over half of middle-class families can afford them.
To be sure, other factors are contributing to higher healthcare costs, such
as the high rate of medical inflation and prescription drug prices.
Nonetheless, one point is more certain than ever: The President was dead
wrong when he promised his healthcare law would “lower premiums by up to $2
,500 for a typical family per year.” Like many promises used to pass this
failing law, this one breaks more and more with each passing year.

很强大的一个右翼的think tank，Koch brothers直接付钱的，立场嘛。。。 自然你懂
的。
我的个人感想是 give it some time。
1) Having 10 million previously-uninsured people suddenly go into the
insurance pool naturally provides "shock" into the system, pricing model,
demand & supply, nothing is settled within a few years.
2) The Obamacare patients are likely more expensive than people already
having insurance because of "pent-up demand", that they haven't gone to the
doctor for years.
3) Huge program like this have a lot of kinks, US government is not very
efficient... you should go check the history of Social Security and Medicare
when they first rolled out. It's unreasonable to expect it work beautifully
out of the gate.
4) Lastly... the beauty of Obamacare is that it can die naturally, if it
doesn't work. It's not like Medicare that government is on hook for all the
cost from day one, if the insurance gets too expensive and unaffordable,
people will stop buying it, insurers will quit the Obamacare marketplace (
NONE of them have done so, which tells you something LOL). And then it will
very easy politically to kill it.
The only reason that GOP is complaining about it is political... It helps
them to win votes from un-informed people.

partisan, non-profit，在美国已经算中立机构了。
