b*****d 发帖数: 61690 | 1 Hillary Clinton on late Monday speculated that Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.)
may have endorsed GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump because he owes
“a debt.”
“Why would, why did he support him?” Clinton asked MSNBC host Chris
Matthews during a town hall in Springfield, Ill., in an exchange caught by a
hot mic, according to The Washington Post.
“They all want a future,” Matthews responded. "Christie’s not going to
beat [Sen.] Cory Booker [D-N.J.].”
“Did he have a debt or something?” asked Clinton, the Democratic
presidential front-runner.
“Cory Booker’s not going anywhere,” Matthews responded of Christie’s
future in New Jersey. "There’s nowhere for Christie to go. Unless [Sen. Bob
] Menendez has to go.”
Clinton and Matthews then concluded that Christie’s political future in New
Jersey look grim after suspending his GOP presidential campaign last month.
“I don’t think he could win right now,” Clinton said of the governor’s
reelection prospects.
“Not in Jersey, no,” Matthews agreed. "I don’t think he could win as a
Senate candidate either. A Republican Senate candidate in Jersey? That’s a
long time ago.”
Clinton also chastised Matthews and other news personalities for constantly
giving Trump a media spotlight.
“Man, you guys can’t stop covering him,” she said. "I mean, he’s a
dangerous presence. And, you know, it’s just like candy by the bushel."
“[We] dip into ‘em, we dip out of ‘em, and we have a progressive audience
, obviously,” Matthews replied, referencing MSNBC’s coverage of Trump. "
Nobody can tell what works, what people want to watch.”
“Yeah, people must think they want to watch him,” Clinton said of Trump. | y********a 发帖数: 953 | 2 Of course that is not true. That's Cliniton's tricks. | s*******1 发帖数: 16479 | |
