Former GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who is helping shepherd Gorsuch's nomination
on the Hill said in a statement Thursday Gorsuch has told senators "he finds
any criticism of a judge's integrity and independence disheartening and
demoralizing."
Ayotte added the judge has made clear he "could not comment on any specific
cases and that judicial ethics prevent him from commenting on political
matters."
