SPARC 2 and Sun Ultra 10.
I am new to Unix. Could anybody comment on those 2 modules?
another question is that can I use those UNIX station monitors to PC?
Thx. | N***r 发帖数: 188 | 2
Ultra 10 is a recent model.
SPARC 2 should be more than 10 years old.
The line should be like: Ultra 10, 5, 1... Sparc 20, 10, 5,
2, 1...
Yes, At least Ultras' can. Ultra 10's 2nd channel signal
interface is compatible with PC directly, while Ultra 1's
single channel may need an adapter which is the same as
the one right between Ultra 10's monitor and display card.

http://www.sunsunsun.net is a good place to go. Right now,
you can get a whole
SS20 system with $525. These boxes are too slow to run
Solaris or SunOS,
but they make good NetBSD/OpenBSD/Linux platforms.
NetBSD/sparc is much faster
than Linux/sparc port. Once you got all the installation
details sorted out,
you can run pretty much any free unix platform software. |
