| S**I 发帖数: 15689 | 2 1.
2. 没错

When a prospective student entering the U.S. on a B-1
or B-2 visa, the CBP immigration inspector will check
box 25 on the reverse side of the upper portion of the
I-94 card (the upper portion which the officer keeps).
When the person later files I-539 to change to F-1
status, if USCIS does not see this prospective student
declaration in the person's arrival record, the change
of status application may be denied.
In most cases, a prospective student may enter the U.S.
on a B-1 or B-2 visa upon invitation by a school to
audition or to take part in special entrance exams
required for the program of study (e.g., coming to NYC
to interview and audition at Juliard). This should
normally be the primary purpose for entry in B-2 status
for this person, i.e., tourism or business travel is
not the primary purpose.

after been INVITED by the prospective school? Can one enter as a PS only
with a prospective school in mind (i.e. without any preliminary/official
contact with the school) and begin the application process after entering
with the B visa? Thanks for any pointers.
