I'm currently working full time for Company A using CPT (not OPT, I'm
currently studying at an online university as F1; have used up my CPT as
didn't get H1B lotteries last 2 years!!) and just got H1B lottery this year
(finally!! lol) . I would like to change employer and have received an offer
from a company B that I'd love to join. I would like to start working for
the new employer B ASAP instead of waiting till 10/1 or later...
Now I'm facing 2 issues:
1. when can my new employer B file an H1B case (therefore non-cap new case
as I have already been selected in cap lottery this year) for me? Do i need
to wait till my current H1B approved or anytime as long as I have my receipt
number from H1B selection?
2. I know even the new employer files a new H1B and get approved, i still
cannot work till 10/1 using the new H1b. If so, can I work for Company B
using CPT but change employer for my CPT before 10/1? Will H1B interfere
with my CPT change employer anyhow?

policy may result in filing after Oct 1st. And if you push too much, they
may cancel your offer. It happens. At least to me.
