时，有4个：C(原vista, 140G)，D(Dell recovery, 10G), F(MediaDirect,2G)和未分
配的78M. 于是选C，但是下一步就蓝屏，显示＂a problem has been detected and
windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer＂，下面是如何
处理，比如重启，改bios的memory options等，好象都没用，最后是error message而
0x0000008E。
重启了几次都如此，不知现在如何处理？ |

installation can continue for a while. Then the same error appears again.

发帖数: 9994 | 3 use a linux live cd, such as ubuntu 7.1 cd, to delete all the partitions
then rebuild just one or two partitions.
Back up your data or create your recovery cd first. |

couldn't finish, keep rebooting. Looks like a hardware/software
compatibility problem. I am considering a replacement. |

发帖数: 108 | 6 no. SATA is a well-known problem and easy to fix. Mine is rather weird. I
tried more than 5 times on XP and Vista Enterprise, and got either blue
screen or data error (CRC). no idea why.

发帖数: 5794 | 7 我从前有个笔记本重装XP老蓝屏，但是我当初买它的时候装XP是
可以的。研究很长时间发现光驱不行，怀疑是它不能读安装盘。
幸亏电脑上还有一份双启动的DOS，装个DOS USB驱动连上移动硬
盘，拷上XP安装文件。哈，还是不行。
最后发现重装用的是带SP2的XP，最初用的厂家OEM的XP里面带的
是SP1。但是装好XP+SP1后，打SP2补丁是可以的。所以我才没怀
疑是SP2的毛病。

vista系统文件的权限设置会让你根本无法格式化硬盘。换个软件格式化吧 |

I told those guys to try different partitioning software, they did not
listen and even considering returning it. Geeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Vostro 1500, replace Vista with XP.
it turns out that both XP CD I burned are corrupted, which caused strange
problems like the blue screen. I burned a new one, and the installation went
smoothly.
I removed all the partitions and reinstall MediaDirect and XP. The driver CD
contains all the drivers for XP, so no download is needed.
