父母来美探亲期间，以我的公司的名义买了家干洗店在纽约经营。3周前，因为我妈口
语不好，误把一个客人（简称A）拿过来缝补的一件衣服错给了另外一个客户(简称B)。
也是因为口语不好，家里人没有能够留下那个B的任何信息（住址，电话等），B第二次
来的时候也承诺了会把东西送过来，但是到现在也一直没有出现。 我们知道也瞒不下
去了，就坦白和A说了，你的衣服被我们误给别的客人了。A是个70多的白人老太太，我
们和她一坦白，结果就怒了，说那个衣服是她奶奶留下来的，说什么也要我们还回去。
而且说，如果不还，就要找警察和律师来告我们。（原话是：i want it right now! i
want it right now! or I will call the police and my attorney!）她自己好像现
在在一个法律机构任职，但肯定不是律师。
整个过程期间，我一直态度很好。并且提出赔偿。但是老太太A就是要她的衣服。一直
说是她奶奶给的。 但是我们现在衣服真的不知道能不能要回来。B说会拿回来，但是不
拿我们也不能怎 |

i don't think it'll be a big deal. 就要找警察和律师来告我们, this is more
like bluffing. just keep everything on record (like you tried to find B, you
tried to settle this for $$$...).
i don't think any lawyer will take such a tiny case, 警察? no way.
the best she could do is to go to a small claim count and file a case (a
couple hundred $), and settle there.
no need to be scared like this.
but for 买了家干洗店, you should have business insurance later.

我现在担心的事情是，会不会因为她叫警察引发其它的事情。因为我父母是b2， 按道
理是不能在店里面工作的。如果她叫警察，警察会不会在处理纠纷的过程，追究我父母
的合法劳工身份呢？

的漫天要价的），而是由此牵入的移民调查。 |

会来这种鸡毛蒜皮的事。
移民局有自己的部门。
而且扯皮你出面就是了。

the phone, i am young. I think i am much lack of life experience to deal
with such crab stuff, and when things come, i feel just panic. I am pretty
calmed now. Just do what i can do, and let others choose what they want to
choose.

as long as you stick to 2 points:
1) the clothes was misplaced and you're trying your best to contact B;
2) worst case, you're sorry and willing to pay "reasonable" price for it.
you'll be fine.
no need to panic at all, if you're doing a business, you have to be more
mature than this (this is nothing). (god forbid) what if one day some
gangsters come to your store for money, or the store catches fire?... you
have to be prepared to deal with them.
