果一个月之内两个on-site拿了两个offer，薪水都给得是position范围内最高的。选
了一个薪水低些单位行业好一些的去了。
10个月后单位新CEO restructure，我的position被取消。结果这次找工作好难，简历
投了三个月，电话多了，行业也杂了，5个on-site，已经fail3个了。
上周一个公司面了一天，感觉director直到见我的时候才知道我unemployed。电话时我
就说清楚了，但是每轮都有人问我为什么换工作。
有工作经验特别是面试人经验的，说说lay off是不是起副面作用。人家以为我表现差

出校门的学生就行的，人家也不愿意要我，觉得你还是有一些skill, 不fit。以前有点
背景的，觉得你跑别的行业，天差地别的。稍微senior level和好一些的单位，on
site后也拒了。
最后这个是一月投的，二月联系我，我说了我laid off，上星期面试的时候director做
公司介绍的时候还说我们挑3%的candidate来on site，choose final 1%。 但是问我为
什么要来他们那里，我说什么可以配合我以前的背景，然后说我在找工作。他才反应
you are unemployed. 后来自己说跟我联系的manager应该知道，但没有和他说。我全
天见了director两轮，感觉他对我以前的工作有兴趣，但不停在各种角度问我为什么
unemployed，单位都裁了哪些人。我只好不停说明，我的例子，别的部门的比例。面完
觉得很有可能，因为他说马上讨论你的case，一周内一定给你答复。你现在有任何
offer马上通知他，will speed up the process。收到书面拒

something like: the company had restructured and my position was eliminated. | s********n

why pick lower salary? I would always go for the higher salary job, unless
that job is highly unstable then pick the lower one.
They question you why you change job, mostly because your last job didn't
last over 1 year. unless you have a strong track record before, ie. position
lasted many years. you will have a hard time explain to them, because
sometime company use layoff to get rid off unwanted employee instead of

I picked up the lower pay job because it is in a better organization/
industry. Adding all the compenssation, it maybe the same/better with the
first one. During the interview, the director was frankly telling me that
his concern was how to promote me in the future to keep me stay, since it
was a very nice organization and other people wouldn't leave. The job
functions there, for example in my group, is narrow, it is hard to switch.

year service, you should be ok with this lay off.
your manager is fine, because he is more experienced, had stayed at this
company for 25 years. you are different, this is your first job, you got
laid off less than a year.

manage the group strategically. I was out due to the position elimination, he was
out due to the replacement.
Anyway, I have to face the current situation, tough. Even I tell people in
the interview, they will have their own judgment, particularly if they know
about my organization. The local society is small.

well.
I was trying to answer what you said lay off sometimes is to get ride off
the people that they don't like/need.
Actually for the senior management level, it is true.

The MOST IMPORTANT:
Do not begin with your unemployment and reasoning, begin with:
- Why you apply for this job,
- How is your background and expertise fit this job,
- Why you the best candidate for the position!!
- at the end, you can in one sentence, I got my leaving package, reference
letter and even performance bonus, etc.
Always be confident of yourself, if you don't, the other will be even worst.
I have been helping my friend for that case, he got 10% salary increase for
